By-Elections Result of Lok Shaba 2019

By-Elections

Result of Lok Shaba 2019

by-election, also spelled bye-election (Ireland only) (known as a special election in the United States and the Philippines, and a bypoll in India), is an election used to fill an office that has become vacant between general elections.

In most cases, these elections occur after the incumbent dies or resigns, but they also occur when the incumbent becomes ineligible to continue in office (because of a recall, ennoblement, criminal conviction, or failure to maintain a minimum attendance). Less commonly, these elections have been called when a constituency election is invalidated by voting irregularities.

BJP discusses Assembly Elections 2019, enrol members

BJP discusses Assembly Elections 2019, enrol members

New Delhi: On Sunday, BJP discussed the forthcoming Assembly elections in four states (Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand & Delhi) in which during the nationwide membership drive, Haryanvi folk singer Sapna Chaudhary was seen joining the party here.

BJP’s Executive President J.P. Nadda held a meeting with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officials and discussed the Assembly elections in Jharkhand, Haryana and Maharashtra where elections are due this year and at the beginning of next year in Delhi.

The meeting lasted for over three hours.

The meeting was supposed to be addressed by Union Home Minister and BJP President Amit Shah. "But he could not attend due to prior appointments," a party leader said. The BJP claims it has over 11 crore members and is one of the world's biggest political parties.

Earlier in the day, after months of flip flop, Sapna Chaudhary joined the BJP here in the presence of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, General Secretary Ram Lal, Delhi in-charge Shyam Jaju and Delhi city unit chief Manoj Tiwari.

Chaudhary was the first person to join the BJP as part of the BJP's membership campaign.

She did extensively campaigned in Delhi during the Lok Sabha elections. In March, there was speculation that she had joined the Congress. But she denied this.

Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda received his certificate after winning from Garhi Sampla Kiloi Assembly Constituency.

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala has conceded defeat from Kaithal assembly seat. Randeep Singh Surjewala lost from Kaithal by nearly 530 votes to BJP's Leela Ram.

Randeep Singh Surjewala is a two-time MLA from Kaithal. He won the assembly elections in 2014 and 2009 from Kaithal.

Speaking to media after the result in Kaithal, Randeep Singh Surjewala said he accepts the decision of the people of Kaithal "with humility".

With the BJP appearing to be falling short of a majority in Haryana, former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda publicly asked Dushyant Singh Chautala's JPP, the INLD and the Independents to join hands with his party to keep the BJP out of power in the state. "The time has come for Congress, JJP, INLD, and independents to come together and form a strong government with us," Mr Hooda said.

Senior BJP leader Arun Singh said that caste politics unleashed during campaigning in Haryana has hurt the BJP prospects.

"They indulged in caste politics. Of course, it has hurt us to some extent," said Mr Singh, who is the BJP general secretary. But he added BJP will form the Government in Haryana nevertheless.

Dushyant Chautala said: Counting of slips from a VVPAT is underway. As soon as I get the certificate, I’ll discuss with everyone, hold a meeting with MLAs tomorrow decide the future course of action. Too early to say anything. I believe the state wants to change will bring it.

Upcoming By-Election Assembly Schedule 2020

Upcoming By-Election Assembly Schedule 2020

A by-election, also spelled by-election (Ireland only) (known as a special election in the United States and the Philippines, and a bypoll in India), is an election used to fill an office that has become vacant between general elections.

By-elections to fifteen state assembly constituencies will be going to held in Karnataka on 5 Dec 2019. It will be considered to be a mini-assembly election battle for the power in Karnataka. The ruling government has to prove its majority while the opposition will try hard to get maximum seats.
