The by-elections to the Mungaoli and Kolaras assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh will be held on February 24, the Election Commission announced on Friday.
- The two assembly seats were represented by the Congress prior to them falling vacant.
- The bypolls for the two seats assume importance given the fact that assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh are expected to take place in October-November this year.
- Senior Congress leader and MP from Guna Jyotiraditya Scindia is leading the campaign in both the constituencies for the party.Meanwhile, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has addressed a number of public meetings in the two constituencies.
- The last date for withdrawal of nominations is February 9, a poll official informed.
