  1. Out of the 11 RS members from Gujarat, the term of three – Smriti Irani and Dilipbhai Pandya (both BJP) and Ahmed Patel is ending on August 18. 6 Congress MLAs left the party ahead of the election taking its number from 51 to 57. 
  2. 3 Congress MLAs PI Patel, Balwantsinh Rajput and Tejashree Patel resigned from Congress on Thursday.
  3. Later 3 more MLAs Maan Singh Chouhan, Ramsinh Parmer and Sana Bhai Choudhari Resigned from INC on Friday
  4. INC decided to fly 44 of its legislators to Bengaluru So that they also dont join BJP.
  5. While the term of Shantaram Naik (Cong, Goa) is coming to an end on July 28, the retirement of Ahmed Patel (Cong), Dilipbhai Pandya (BJP) and Irani (BJP) - all from Gujarat - is due on August 18.

Vadodara District covers an area of 7,794 km². It had a population of 3,641,802 of which 45.20% were urban as of 2001 census. As of 2011 it is the third most populous district of Gujarat (out of 26), after Ahmadabad and Surat.vadodra

Maharaja Sayajirao was one of the foremost administrators and reformers of his times. He initiated a series of bold socio-economic reforms. He attached great importance to economic development and started a number of model industries to encourage initiative, and then handed back the working industries to private enterprise. He started model textile and tile factories.

Ahmedabad East Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 26 Lok Sabha constituencies in Gujarat, a state in western India. This constituency was created as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies in 2008.It first held elections in 2009 and its first member of parliament (MP) was Harin Pathak of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). As of the latestdistrictahmedabad 1 elections in 2014, film actor Paresh Rawal of the BJP represents this constituency.

 Ahmedabad has emerged as an important economic and industrial hub in India. It is the second largest producer of cotton in India, and its stock exchange is the country's second oldest. Cricket is a popular sport in Ahmedabad, which houses the 54,000-seat Sardar Patel Stadium. The effects of liberalisation of the Indian economy have energised the city's economy towards tertiary sector activities such as commerce, communication and construction. Ahmedabad's increasing population has resulted in an increase in the construction and housing industries resulting in recent development of skyscrapers.

Gujarat Gram Panchayat Election 2018 Feb   

Voting for around 1,145 village panchayats was held peacefully across Gujarat on Sunday, with results scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, officials said.

  1. Around 73 per cent voters cast their votes across 33 districts till 4 pm, and the final figure was likely to go up, an official of the State Election Commission said.
  2. A total of over 22.5 lakh voters were eligible to vote, he added.
  3. As many as 218 village Panchayats were declared “Samaras” after the villages chose their sarpanch and ward members through consensus, the official informed.
  4. Voting in one booth at a village in Chhota Udepur district was suspended after the candidates complained that their election symbols were missing from the EVM.' The SEC official said that re-polling would be held tomorrow at this booth.
  5. Elections for sarpanch and ward members are not held on the symbols of political parties but candidates are generally backed by these parties.

Gujarat Gram Panchayat Election Dates Details 2017

  1. The Panchayat polls are not fought on the political party symbols and each voter casts two votes, one to elect the Sarpanch while the other to elect the Panchayat members. In the polling held on April 8, polling was suspended at a village in Visavadar tehsil of Junagadh district after the death of a candidate contesting for the post of the sarpanch.
  2. Reports of violence emerged in Borisana village of Mehsana district after some people allegedly tried to stop a man from escorting his mother to the polling stations. Apart from this, clashes between two groups in Kadi left four injured. The Kadi police have filed FIRs against both the group but no arrests have been made so far.
  3. The results of Gujarat Gram Panchayat elections will be released by State Election Commission (SEC). The list of winners, along with voting percentage would be be declared by SEC after receving the adequate information from District Collectors. India.com would provide you with the final tally of winners as soon as it is released by the SEC.
  4. Results of the 1828 Gram Panchayats of Gujarat that went to polls on April 8 will be declared today. The Gram Panchayat elections of Saturday witnessed a total voter turnover of more than 70 per cent and around 1,557 villages voted for 1828 Sarpanchs and around 16,082 Panchayat members.
  5. The Gram Panchayat elections of April 8 is the second phase of the Gram Panchayat elections held in Gujarat. The first phase of Gram Panchayat elections held in December last year was contested for around 10,3000 Sarpanchs and Panchayat members. Gujarat has a total of 18,584 villages consisting around 14,017 Gram Panchayats.
