Vijay Rupani(born 2 August 1956) is an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party and a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly representing Rajkot West and presently State cabinet minister of Gujarat government and Gujarat State Bharatiya Janata Party President.

Vijay Rupani past political career:

1. In August 2014, when Vajubhai Vala, the incumbent speaker of Gujarat Legislative Assembly, resigned as the MLA from Rajkot West.
2. Vijay Rupani was nominated by the BJP to contest his vacant seat. He won the bye-poll on 19 October 2014 by a handsome margin.
3. He was inducted as minister in the first cabinet expansion by Gujarat Chief Minister, Anandiben Patel and currently is in charge of transport, water supply, labor and employment minister.
4. The byepoll for Rajkot West was held on 15 October 2014 and result was declared on 19 October 2014. BJP retained the seat with Vijay Rupani declared winner candidate.
