Rajasthan Bye Election Result

A by-election (also spelled as "bye-election"), also known as a special election, is an election held to fill a political office that has become vacant between general elections. Usually, a by-election occurs when the incumbent has died or resigned. It may also occur when the incumbent becomes ineligible to continue in office, for example because of a recall, ennoblement, a serious criminal conviction, failure to maintain a minimum attendance, bankruptcy or mental incapacity.

List of Chief Ministers of Rajasthan
The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, a north Indian state, is the head of the Government of Rajasthan. As per the Constitution of India, the Governor of Rajasthan is the state's de jure head, but de facto executive authority rests with the chief minister. Following elections to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, the governor usually invites the party (or coalition) with a majority of seats to form the government. The governor appoints the chief minister, whose council of ministers are collectively responsible to the assembly. Given that he has the confidence of the assembly, the chief minister's term is for five years and is subject to no term limits. Click here for Complete list of Rajasthan CM

Winning prospects and young age, mantra for ticket allotment: Raman Singh.

rajasthan

RAIPUR: Expressing confidence that the BJP would make a hat-trick in the ensuing assembly elections, Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh said on Monday that the sole criteria for the allotment of tickets was the winability of the candidates and those dropped didn't fit in it.

In an exclusive chat with TOI on phone, the chief minister also disclosed that more women will find place in the remaining 23 seats that are to be announced and their total tally would go higher than the present 10%. In the first list of 67 candidates announced yesterday, the BJP has allotted tickets to only six women.

rajasthanNEW

JAIPUR: Mammoth rallies with honking vehicles belching out smoke, decked up elephants and people coming from mera gaon, mera desh have been an integral part of Indian ballot battles.

But the battle pattern has changed "app"tly. Earlier, it was the ballot paper, then came the EVMs and now internet has changed the scenario to a great extent. Today, the buzz is the "virtual" world. Most candidates have specialized "apps" which not only makes information more accessible, but also helps to hold politicians more accountable for their words and actions.

Rajasthan polls: It's caste politics all the way.

rajasthan

JAIPUR: It's a known fact that elections in the state are fought on caste and community lines and not on issues. Though issues like inflation, corruption and governance are raised by political parties, ultimately it's the caste factor that comes to the mind eventually. In Rajasthan, close competition between castes or caste clusters result in conflict sometimes. The competition between Jats and Rajputs has been transformed into a bipolar party situation.
