Rajasthan Bye Election Result
A by-election (also spelled as "bye-election"), also known as a special election, is an election held to fill a political office that has become vacant between general elections. Usually, a by-election occurs when the incumbent has died or resigned. It may also occur when the incumbent becomes ineligible to continue in office, for example because of a recall, ennoblement, a serious criminal conviction, failure to maintain a minimum attendance, bankruptcy or mental incapacity.

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, a north Indian state, is the head of the Government of Rajasthan. As per the Constitution of India, the Governor of Rajasthan is the state's de jure head, but de facto executive authority rests with the chief minister. Following elections to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, the governor usually invites the party (or coalition) with a majority of seats to form the government. The governor appoints the chief minister, whose council of ministers are collectively responsible to the assembly. Unhappy Rajasthan Cong state secretary Bhati leaves Congress to join BJP
In a major setback for congress in Rajasthan, its state secretary Saleem Bhati join BJP after quitting Congress with four other Cong office bearers. Disturbed over the ticket distribution in Rajasthan congress for the forthcoming coming assembly polls, Saleem Bhati join BJP.
Showing strong displeasure over ticket distribution, Bhati alleged that Rajasthan Congress senior party leaders ignored Rahul Gandhi’s formula for candidate selection and ticket distribution.
Saleem Bhati also alleged Rajasthan Congress party for denying ticket to the minority community for a seat in Bikaner.
Bhati along with Shyam Tanwar, Kailash Goyal, Peer Amin Shah, Narayan Singh joined the primary membership of BJP in the presence of BJP leader and MLA Devi Singh Bhati.

Congress chair person Sonia Gandhi holds meeting, but no candidates yet.
JAIPUR: The Congress' chief election committee (CEC) under party chief Sonia Gandhi met in New Delhi to finalize candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in five states on Monday.
Sources said the committee discussed the issues related to candidates for Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan elections only on Monday and concluded with a note to meet again on October 31.

In a change of strategy for the upcoming assembly elections, Congress has decided to wait for rival BJP to release its list of candidates first before going public with its contestants.
The move is aimed at quelling any rebellion or desertions within its state units. The party faced a revolt in Chhattisgarh after the release of its first list of 17 candidates for the 90-member assembly on October 11.
