In the northern region of the state of Gujarat is the Sabarkantha Parliamentary constituency. This District has the Himatnagar city as its administrative headquarters and municipal corporation. According to Election Commission of India 2009 data the total electorates in the Sabarkantha Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 5) were 1,452,240 of which 715,288 are females and 736,952 are males.

About Sabarkantha :

Situated in the Sabarkantha District in the northern region of the state of Gujarat is the Sabarkantha Parliamentary constituency. With eight talukas and a relatively large population of 2,427,346 (2011 data), the Sabarkantha District makes the region one of the most politically stable yet active seats in this western Indian state.

The economy of the Rajkot Parliamentary constituency thrives on a strong industry, the focus being on ceramics, chemicals and milk-processing, besides an advanced agricultural base. Yet, the district has been announced as one of the most backward regions in Gujarat, being entitled to the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme (BRGFP).

Surendranagar constituency is the constituency number 9 of 26 parliamentary constituencies of Gujarat, It is an administrative district consisting of seven assembly segments. Surendranagar has the second highest rate of development in Gujarat. It is also considered to have one of the best environments for cure of tuberculoses patients. According to Election Commission of India 2009 data the total electorates in the Surendranagar Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 9) were 1475820 of which 765928 are males and 709892 are females. Almost 25% of salt supply in India comes from this place.

About Valsad:

Bulsar (original name Bulsar), administrative name Valsad is a municipality in the Valsad district of the Indian state of Gujarat. The city has a collectorate, a district court, and a police headquarters with a historic prison.

Historically, Valsad was a small town covered with forest, with teak production as a major regional industry.It was a part of regional kingdom before colonial era. It was made a district during the Bombay Presidency era, and was governed under Bombay Stateduring the colonial era, following independence (prior to the creation of the state of Gujarat).Today, Valsad is a town inhabited by Gujarati people(Gurjar) speaking Gujarati in and around the town. About Vadodara:

Vadodara is the other constituency from where BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will contest the Lok Sabha elections, the first being Varanasi. Vadodara's sitting BJP MP Balkrishna Shukla expressed his happiness over party's decision. "Modi is my political guru. He had encouraged me to contest the 2009 Lok Sabha polls when I was still the city mayor. I am very happy to vacate my seat for him. Shukla won the 2009 Lok Sabha elections with a huge margin of 1.32 lakh votes substituting the three times seating MP Jataben Thakkar. It is expected that Modi's candidature from Vadodara will increase the voter turnout across Gujarat, especially central Gujarat.
