One of the 26 parliamentary constituencies of Gujarat, Valsad is the administrative name for Bulsar in the Valsad district. It consists of seven assembly segments. According to Election Commission of India 2009 data, the total electorates in the Valsad Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 26) were 1380245 of which 675574 are females and 704671 are males.

About Valsad:

Bulsar (original name Bulsar), administrative name Valsad is a municipality in the Valsad district of the Indian state of Gujarat. The city has a collectorate, a district court, and a police headquarters with a historic prison.

Historically, Valsad was a small town covered with forest, with teak production as a major regional industry.It was a part of regional kingdom before colonial era. It was made a district during the Bombay Presidency era, and was governed under Bombay Stateduring the colonial era, following independence (prior to the creation of the state of Gujarat).Today, Valsad is a town inhabited by Gujarati people(Gurjar) speaking Gujarati in and around the town. Where as stated minorly to the Gujarat state, speak language categorized as dialect which is part of old languages of the Continent.The religion followed is Hinduism, Other, Jainism, Islam, Christianity, Zoroastrian, Sikh.
