About Navsari:

First formed in the year 2008, the Navsari Parliamentary constituency is one of the 26 Lok Sabha seats covering and representing the state of Gujarat. It is part of the administrative district of Navsari. Navsari city also called the ‘Twin City of Surat’, is the administrative seat of the Navsari District. The total number of electorates in the Navsari Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 25) according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports are 1,623,415 of which 902,783 are males and 720,632 are females. 

Assembly Segments:

Out of the seven assembly segments which make up the Navsari constituency, only the Gandevi assembly segment is reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes.

About Navsari:

The city is also a municipality in the Municipal Metropolitan Region of the Navsari district. Housing a considerably large Parsi-Zoroastrian community, this constituency is one of the most politically active Lok Sabha seats. Its historic lineage can be traced to the founder of the Tata Group of companies, Jamshedji Tata, who was born in the Navsari district. With a population of 1,330,711 (2011 census), this Lok Sabha seat thrives on a rich industrial base as its economic support, besides a steady agricultural production of cotton and other crops such as millet and maize. The diamond polishing business has been incredibly successful here.

About Ahmedabad East:

The Parliamentary constituency of Ahmedabad East was first formed in 2008, following the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Constituencies Order of 2008, issued by the Delimitation Commission of India. The Ahmedabad East Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 7) consists of 1,411,761 number of electorates in totality, of these 744,345 are males and 667,416 are females as the Election commission of India 2009 data suggests.

Out of the seven Assembly constituencies which together make up the constituency, Naroda and Dehgam were part of the erstwhile Ahmedabad and Kapadvanj constituencies, respectively, while the remaining five came into existence in 2008, with the formation of the constituency.

This constituency was earlier part of the Ahmedabad Parliamentary constituency, before the latter was reorganized into two separate smaller constituencies of Ahmedabad East and Ahmedabad West. The Ahmedabad East parliamentary constituency is part of the administrative district of Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad, which is the largest city of Gujarat and the former capital of the western state of Gujarat, is the administrative headquarters as well as the Municipal Corporation of the district, besides being an integral part of the seat. Being a vital seat in the state, this parliamentary constituency of Gujarat has a population of 6,270,156.
