About Panchmahal:

The Panchmahal Parliamentary constituency came into existence in 2008, as per the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Constituencies Order of 2008, issued and approved by the Delimitation Commission of India. The Panchmahal Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 18) consists of 1,423,385 number of electorates in totality, of these 733,279 are males and 690,106 are females as the Election commission of India 2009 data suggests.

Assembly Segments:

Out of the seven assembly segments which constitute this Lok Sabha seat, five belonged to erstwhile Godhra constituency and one belonged to erstwhile Kaira constituency. Both the constituencies ceased to exist after the year 2008.

About Panchmahal:

The Panchmahal parliamentary constituency, also called the Panch Mahals, is part of the administrative district of Panchmahal. A renowned tourist spot in this constituency is the Temple of Kalika Mata and Champaner, which is a World Heritage Site. Godhra is the administrative center of the District. It is one of the most politically active and volatile parliamentary constituencies of the state. The Panchmahal District is a comparatively more populated city, with a population of 2,388,267. 

Panchmahal has been announced as one of the most backward districts in Gujarat, receiving regular governmental funds under special schemes such as the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme (BRGFP).

About Banaskantha:

The Banaskantha parliamentary constituency situated in the Banaskantha district in the state of Gujarat, is a strong urban centre, with the Palanpur city being the administrative headquarters as well as the Municipal Corporation of the Banaskantha district. The Banaskantha Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 2) has a total of 1,296,871 electorates out of which 627,536 are females and 669,335 are males according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports. Palanpur is also the largest city in the district.

About Banaskantha:

 The Banaskantha constituency is famous across the country for its rich mineral reserves such as marble, limestone, granite, marble clay. As many as 31,20,506 people reside in the Banaskantha district as per the 2011 census data, making it one of the most improved regions in the “Jewel State”. The economy of the Banaskantha Parliamentary constituency thrives on a strong agricultural base, along with industries such as ceramics, textiles, food processing and tourism, besides producing the largest quantities of potatoes.  

Paradoxically however, the Banaskantha district has been announced as one of the most backward regions in Gujarat, receiving regular governmental funds under the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme (BRGFP).

About Patan:

The Patan District was formed in the year 2000. The district is one of the less-populated regions in the state (1,342,746, according to 2011 data). The ancient fortified town of Patan survives on a prominent agricultural economy that is visible in the constituency, besides a growing industrial segment. The Patan District will soon have the largest solar energy park in Asia.  Being a District known for its forts, temples and mosques, it has several tourist attractions such as the numerous forts, step wells and lakes scattered across.
