About the Constituency:
The Lok Sabha seat of Purvi Champaran came into existence in 2008. As one of the 40 Lok Sabha seats which belong to the eastern Indian state of Bihar, Purvi Champaran is located within the geographic boundaries of the East Champaran district. 1,187,264 is the total electorate count in the Purvi Champaran Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 3).
Out of these 640,901 number of electorates are males and the remaining 546,363 are belong to the female category as the Election commission of India 2009 reports suggest.

Political Background:
With a population of 5,082,868 (2011 census), the district of East Champaran is the second most populous district in Bihar, closely following Patna. The district is part of the Red Corridor, and has the town of Motihari as its administrative headquarters. In the first elections fought for this seat in 2009, the BJP’s Radha Mohan Singh managed to capture power.

About the Constituency:
The Paschim Champaran or the West Champaran Lok Sabha constituency came into existence in 2008, following the Delimitation Commission of India’s Orders was instituted. It is one of the 40 Lok Sabha seats allotted to the state of Bihar. The total number of electorates in the Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 2) according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports are 1,220,868 of which 658,427 are males and 562,441 are females.
This parliamentary constituency is part of the administrative district of West Champaran in the northern region of Bihar. Before the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies in 2008, the geographic region of this constituency was part of the Bettiah Lok Sabha constituency.

About Paschim Champaran:
As this district which is part of the Tirhut division, shares a fluid border with the neighbouring country of Nepal, instances of high rates of crime and smuggling in the Paschim Champaran constituency are frequent. This makes the West Champaran district a part of the Red Corridor.
The density in this district is 750 inhabitants per square kilometer, making it one of the most important urban centres in Bihar. History remembers the West Champaran district as being one of the first regions to witness traces of the Satyagraha Andolon led by Mahatma Gandhi. Bettiah and its surrounding regions are famous for the anti-colonial struggles involving the indigo plantation. Six assembly segments make up this parliamentary constituency of Paschim Champaran.

The eastern Indian state of Bihar has 40 parliamentary constituencies, which are representative of the state in the Indian Parliament. One such constituency is Ujiarpur, which came into existence as recently as 2008. The total number of electorates in the Ujiarpur Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 22) according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports are 1,229,327 of which 657,230 are males and 572,097 are females.
Located in the Samastipur District, which is situated further east of the Vaishali District of Bihar, the Ujiarpur Parliamentary constituency is one of the most politically stable regions in the state of Bihar.
Six Assembly constituencies form the Parliamentary seat of Ujiarpur. Out of these, Patepur is reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates.

The economy relies on a rich agricultural sector, as important crops such as wheat, tobacco, maize, rice and other fruits are famously grown in this district. Besides, the presence of small-scale industries dotting this constituency, such as paper mills, sugar mills and jute mills, is visible throughout the Samastipur District. Nonetheless, this region is receives funds under the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme, as it is an economically dependent district of the state and the country as a whole.
Present Political Scenario:
This difficult seat which could see a three cornered battle between BJP, JDU and RJD. This is one of those seats that can possibly go to the wires.

The Vaishali Lok Sabha constituency, situated in the Muzaffarpur district in Bihar, is one of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. The Vaishali Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 16) consists of 1,278,891 number of electorates in totality, of these 681,119 are males and 597,772 are females as the Election commission of India 2009 data suggests.
This constituency has as its Member of Parliament, the popular leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh. Singh’s massive appeal among the masses has made him return to the Vaishali seat for four consecutive terms, starting from 1998.

About Siwan:
It is situated in the district of Siwan, which is one of the 38 administrative districts in Bihar. The town of Siwan is the administrative headquarters of the district. The Siwan district, situated in the western parts of the state, has a rich historical past as the first President of independent India, Rajendra Prasad, belonged to here. About 3,318,176 people reside in this district of Siwan, making it one of the populous districts in the state. The Siwan district is also known as Aliganj Sawan, named after Ali Bux. It played a prominent role in the First War of Independence in 1857. The district is also well known for housing the ‘Bhojpuris’, the fearless, sturdy and martially-spirited freedom fighters, many of whom laid down their lives during the anti-colonial movement against the British.
