About the Constituency:
Chandauli Lok Sabha Constituency is one of the 80 constituencies of Uttar Pradesh, formed in 1952 with five Vidhan Sabha segments one of which is for the SC category. According to Election Commission of India 2009 data the total electorates in the Chandauli Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 76) were 1,446,259 of which 656,063 are females and 790,196 are males.

About Chandauli:

Chandauli district is one of India's 250 most backward districts and is one of the 34 districts of the state which receives funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme. Hindi is the official language here. National Highway NH-2 runs from Haryana through Chandauli upto Bihar placing it on a wide road network.

Demography:
As per the 2011 census data, the total population of the district is 1,952,756 of which 1,017,905 are males and 934,851 are females. The child population is a total of 309,597 and the sex ratio is 918 females for every 1000 males. The average literacy rate of Chandauli is 71.48% with male and female literacy rates are 81.72% and 60.35%.

About the Constituency:
One of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state of Uttar Pradesh, the parliamentary constituency of Bijnor came into existence in 1952 currently comprises of five Vidhan Sabha segments of which one is reserved for the SC category. The total number of electorates in the Bijnor Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 4) according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports are 1,287,070 of which 704,063 are males and 583,007 are females.

About Bijnor and Demographic pattern:

Bijnor District sprawls over an area of 4,049 and its headquarters are located in Bijnor city. Belonging to the Moradabad Division, the district has five tehsils; Najibabad, Bijnor, Dhampur, Chandpur and Nagina. With a total population of over 2,454,000, it is then 74th most densely populated district of the country and has a sex ratio of 913 females per 1000 males. Western Hindi or Rohilkhandi is the commonly used language here.
There are several schools and colleges located here. Agriculture, trade and tourism are the primary economic activities in the area. It has an extensive network of roads and railways and the National Highway NH-119 passes through the district.
The population growth over 2001-2011 has been 17.64%. With an average literacy rate of 68.48%, the district of has a male literacy rate of 76.56% and a female literacy rate of 59.72%. It has a population density of 808 people per sq km and the child population is over 564,000.

Three corner fight
Now it is almost a three cornered fight between BSP, BJP and RLD (especially after RLD nominated actress Jayaprada from here) with Chandpur, Hatinapur and Meerapur assembly segments holding the key.

One of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies, Ballia came into being before the elections of 1952 and consists of five legislative segments. The Ballia Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 72) has a total of 1,679,029 electorates out of which 756,234 are females and 922,795 are males according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports.

The city of Ballia is the headquarters if the Ballia district and is located at the junction of Ganges and Ghaghara rivers. Situated about 135 km from Varanasi, the city has an elevation of 160 m and the district sprawls over a total area of 1,981 sq km. It is the 108thto 3,223,642 people and a growth rate of 17.31%. The city has a population is 111,287.

Demographic pattern:

About 51% of the district population is male and the rest 49% is female and about 14% comprises of children below the age of six. Hindus consider this city to be holy and the infamous Bhrigu Temple is located here. The average literacy rate is 71% with male literacy rate of 81.49% and female literacy rate of 59.75%. The sex ratio is 937 females for 1000 males. Languages of Bhojpuri, Hindi, English and Urdu are used here.

This is a seat where Neeraj Shekhar (former PM Chandrashekhar’s son) still holds sway and it is unlikely that he would be defeated this time too.

About Bhadohi:

The city of Bhadohi belongs to the Sant Ravidas Nagar District and is called the "Carpet City"being home to South Asia’s largest hand-knit carpet producing industry. It even has Asia's only carpet and textile technology institute, Institute of Carpet Technology. It has an average height of 85 m and is 45 km from Varanasi and 80 km from Allahabad.

Demography:

According to the census data of 2001, it houses over 74,439 people and 53% of the population is male whereas 47% is female. 18% of the population is below the age of six and the sex ratio is 950 females per 1000 males. The average literacy rate is 90% with male and female literacy being 94% and 86% respectively. Hindus have a 53% majority closely followed by 45% of Muslims.

4 lakh plus Brahmin votes will be crucial for any party.

About Basti:

The administrative headquarters of Basti district is situated in the city of Basti. The district covers an area of 7,309 sq. km. and is located roughly in the north-eastern part of the state. Hindi is the official language of Basti with local dialects of Awadhi and Bhojpuri being widely spoken in different parts.

Demographic pattern:

According to the census data of 2011, Basti has a total population of 114,651 of which 53% are males and 47% are females. It has a sex ratio of 907 females per 1000 males. 12% of the population is below the age of six. The city of Basti has an average literacy of 82.47% with male literacy at 88% and female literacy at 76%.
