Known for being the educational hub of Andhra Pradesh, the Guntur district comprises the Guntur parliamentary constituency. As one of the 42 Lok Sabha seats which represent the state of Andhra Pradesh in the Lower House of the Indian Parliament, the Guntur constituency has remained with the Congress from the early decades of the 20th century of post-Independence era. According to Election Commission of India 2009 data the total electorates in the Guntur Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 31) were 1,365,177 of which 694,586 are females and 670,591 are males.

 

Demographic and Commercial Background:

The massive city of Guntur is the administrative seat of power of this eponymous district. With a population of 4,889,230, as per 2011 Census records, the Guntur district is famous for housing some of the world-class educational institutes of the country. It is primarily an agrarian economy, with important crops being paddy, cotton, pulses, chillies and tobacco.

Covering the district of Chittoor in the Rayalaseema region of the state of Andhra Pradesh is the Lok Sabha constituency by the same name. The Chittoor Parliamentary constituency is one of the 42 Lok Sabha seats which belong to the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The Chittoor Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 42) has a total of 1,291,921 electorates out of which 654,277 are females and 637,644 are males according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports.

The Anantapur district, now known as the Anantapuram district, is part of the Red Corridor, due to frequent victimisation at the hands of the Red Rebels. The district headquarters lie in the city of Anantapur in this eponymous district. According to the Census of India of 2011, this district of Anantapur has a total population of 4,083,315. This is an economically backward region, as the Maoists have hindered all prospects of economic stability and growth in this constituency. About Anakapalli and its Demography:

Vishakhapatnam is an administrative division in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The region of Anakapalli or Anakapalle is one of the 43 Mandals or sub-divisions which belong to the Vishakhapatnam district.

 According to the 2011 Census, it houses a total population of 86,612 people. Situated close to the Vizag Steel Plant, this parliamentary constituency is one of the most important urban centres in the state of Andhra Pradesh, known for its jaggery market. The economy in the Anakapalli parliamentary constituency is primarily dependent on the industrial sector, as this region is the industrial hub of the steel industry. Besides, the education sector is flourishing in this economy, due to the presence of premier educational institutes.
