About the Constituency:
Formed first in the year 1962, the Khargone Parliamentary constituency is a Lok Sabha seat reserved for the Scheduled Tribe candidates. The Khargone Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 26) consists of 1,263,778 number of electorates in totality, of these 650,694 are males and 613,084 are females as the Election commission of India 2009 data suggests. It is spread over the entire district of Barwani and is part of the Khargone District. Like most other Madhya Pradesh Parliamentary seats, the Khargone Lok Sabha seat is made up of eight assembly segments. Out of these, while the four segments of Sendhawa, Barwani, Rajpur and Pansemal belong to the Barwani district, the remaining belong to the Khargone district.
The number of voters in this constituency is 1,265,332.
About Kargone:
Both the districts of Barwani and Khargone have been named by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj as backward districts in Madhya Pradesh, thus receiving regular governmental funds under the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme. While the Khargone city is the administrative capital of the Khargone District, the city of Barwani (or Badwani) operates in the same way in the Barwani District. Places of interest in this constituency include a number of temples, especially in the Khargone district. Some examples are: Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, Raj-Rajeshwar Mandir, Bada Ganpati Temple, Chaturbhuj Narayan Mandir, Ahilya Mata's Chhatris, Rajwada, Pandharinath Mandir, and Chintamani Ganpati Mandir, among others. Other places of interest are the Jain pilgrimage centre Oon, Bawangaja, the Bandhan Waterfall, Rajghat and Gwalbeda, among others.

About Ramanathapuram:
It represents the Ramanathapuram District, commonly known as Ramnad. The headquarters of the district lie in the city of Ramanathapuram. The district has an area over 4,000 sq km and a population density of 330 people per sq km. It lies on the eastern borders of the state along the Bay of Bengal.
The total population as per the 2011 census comes up to 1,354,000 with 52% males and 48% females. The population growth rate was 14% from 2001 to 2011. 11% of the population is below six years of age. The sex ratio is 983 females per 1000 males. The average literacy rate is 81%, with male and female literacy rates at 88% and 74% respectively. The official language is Tamil and English. Hindu is the major religion here and several temples are located here. It is the largest chili pepper producer in the state with 34% production share. The National Highway connected to Ramanathapuram is NH-49.

About Tamil Nadu:
Salem District lies in the western region of the state over area of about 5,237 sq km. It has nine talukas with its headquarters in the city of Salem. Tamil is the official language here with English being academically used.
As per the census of 2011 data, the total population of Salem District is 3,482,056 with a male and female population of 1,781,571 and 1,701,000 respectively. Over the last decade, the district has had a population growth rate of about 16% and currently has a population density of 665 people per sq km. The sex ratio here is 954 females per 1000 males and about 11% of the population is under the age of six. The average literacy rate is 73% with male and female literacy rates of 66% and 77% respectively. Economically, steel plants and mango cultivation are the primary economic setups of the district. The National Highways, NH-7, NH-47 and NH-68 pass through the district connecting it to nearby cities.
