Karnataka MLC Biennial Election 2016 Schedule Voting Result Candidates, Biennial Election Karnataka Legislative Council from Graduates Teachers Constituencies MLA's, Karnataka Legislative Council Polls, Biennial Election Karnataka Legislative Council Schedule/dates 2016, Karnataka MLC Winner List, Karnataka MLC Biennial Election Result  2016

The elections for four seats of Karnataka Legislative Council will be held on June 9.

According to the calendar of events announced by the Election Commission of India on Tuesday, the biennial elections will be held for North West Graduates, South Graduates, North West Teachers and West Teachers constituencies.

 

Karnataka Legislative Council Polls Live Updates:-

  1. Seats for which polling will be held: 7
  2. Candidates in fray. 8
  3. Congress: Rizwan Arshad, Veena Achaiah, Allum Veerabhadrappa, and R.B. Thimmapur
  4. Janata Dal (S): KV. Narayanaswamy and S.M. Venkatapathy
  5. BJP: V. Somanna and Lehar Singh Siroya
  6. All the 225 MLAs are expected to exercise their franchise from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
  7. Counting would begin at 5 p.m. and the results would be known by around 7 p.m. today.

The strength of other parties is: Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha – 1, Karnataka Makkala Paksha – 1, Badavara Shramikara Raitara Congress Party – 3, and Karnataka Janata Paksha – 2. The Assembly has nine Independents.

Polling held in four districts saw 52,894 of a total of 1, 20,445 voters exercising their franchise. A total of 17 candidates, including BJP's MV Ravishankar, JD(S) candidate KT Srikantegowda, Congress' HN Ravindra and Independent candidate Prof KS Bhagavan were in the fray. Voting were held in 130 polling stations in the four districts.

The term of office of the following two sitting members elected from Graduate. Constituencies of the Karnataka Legislative Council and two members elected from Teachers Constituencies of the Karnataka Legislative Council is due to expire on 4thJuly, 2016 and they are due to retire on the expiration of their term, as detailed below:-
