The Odisha Legislative Assembly Secretariat today issued notification for the biennial elections to the three Rajya Sabha seats from the state falling vacant from July 1.

"After the Election Commission of India fixed schedule of the Rajya Sabha elections, we have issued the notification for the biennial elections," said Assembly secretary A K Sarangi.

The elections to the three seats of Odisha in the Upper House of Parliament is scheduled to be held on June 11.
While the last date for filing of nomination is May 31, the verification of the nomination paper would be done on June 1. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is June 3. The election process will conclude on June 13.
The elections for the three seats are required as the tenure of Pyari Mohan Mohapatra, Bhupinder Singh and Baishnab Pariba is ending on July 1. All the three members were elected to the Upper House of the Parliament on BJD ticket.
If required, the polling will be held on June 11 from 9 AM to 4 PM and counting of votes will take place on the same day at 5 PM, Sarangi said.
