About the Constituency:
One of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies of Uttar Pradesh, the constituency of Faizabad covers the district of Faizabad. The Faizabad Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 54) consists of 1,500,160 number of electorates in totality, of these 803,428 are males and 696,732 are females as the Election commission of India 2009 data suggests.

 

Assembly Segments:
It was formed prior to the 1957 constituency elections and currently comprises of five Vidhan Sabha segments of which one is reserved for the SC category.

About Faizabad:
Faizabad City is the headquarters of the Faizabad District and belongs to the administrative division of Faizabad. Situated on the banks of River Ghaghra, the district has an area of 2,799 sq km. It has an elevation of 97 m and is about 127 km from Lucknow. National Highway NH-28 connects the district to a large road network with several major cities all over the country.

Demographic :

It is home to over 2,470,000 of which about 1,260,000 are males and about 1,211,000 are females. It has a sex ratio of 962 females per 1000 males. With an average literacy rate of 68.88%.

About Bareilly:

It covers the entire district of Bareilly which sprawls over an area of 4,120 sq km. The district is divided into six tehsils and the city of Bareilly is the center of administration. Bordered by the districts of Pilibhit, Badaun and Shahjahanpur , it lies just south of Uttarakhand.

Demographic Pattern:

As per India census 2011, the district has a population of 4,465,344 with a 53% male majority and 47% of females. It is the 39th most populated district of the country. Over the decade of 2001-2011, the population growth rate here was 23.4% and the population density is 1,084 inhabitants per sq km. Children constitute 15.77% of the population and the sex ratio here is 887 females per 1000 males. The average literacy rate here is below the national average at 58.49% with male and female literacy rates at 67.50% and 48.30% respectively. Hindus have a 62% majority here.

It covers the District of Bahraich which is a part of the Devipatan Division and covers an area of 4,696.8 sq km. It is bordered by Nepal, Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Hardoi, Gonda and Shravasti. Bahraich is one of India's 250 most backward districts and receives funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme. The road network of the district is connected to the National Highway of NH-28C.

About Barabanki:
The Barabanki city is located in Barabanki District, 29 km from Lucknow at a height of 125 m. The district of Barabanki sprawls over an area of over 3890 sq km. There are several schools, both public and private, affiliated to both the state and central boards of education. Many colleges offering courses in various fields are located here. Economically, most of the people are involved in agriculture, animal husbandry and trade. The handicraft and handloom industries are also well developed here. The state first solar power plant was built here. The National Highway NH-24A, NH-28, NH-28C and NH-56A pass through here.

About Unnao:

The administrative headquarters of Unnao district is situated in the city of Unnao. It is located at a distance of 18 km from Kanpur and 60 km from Lucknow at an average elevation of 98 meters and covers an area of 4,558 sq. km. This district is part of the Lucknow Division. Hindi and English are the official languages of Unnao. The economy of this city is primarily dependent on the tanning industry. Unnao has a promising number of notable schools and colleges, both government and private. The National Highway NH 25 passes through this city.

Demographic pattern:

According to the census data of 2011, Unnao has a total population of 3,108,367 of which 52% are males and 48% are females. It has a sex ratio of 907 females per 1000 males and 14.02% of the population is below the age of six. The city of Unnao has an average literacy of 66.37% with male literacy at 75.05% and female literacy at 56.76%. Hinduism is the predominant religion here with 69% of the total population being Hindus, followed by 28% of Muslims.
