About the Constituency:
It covers the Amroha District, previously known as Jyotiba Phule Nagar which is a part of the Moradabad Division and covers an area of 2,321 sq km. It is bordered by the districts of Bijnor, Moradabad and Badaun and lies on the banks of Ganges. One of the 80 constituencies of Uttar Pradesh, Amroha Lok Sabha Constituency was formed before 1952. The total number of electorates in the Amroha Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 9) according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports are 1,173,915 of which 641,735 are males and 532,180 are females.

 

Demographic pattern:
According to the India census 2011, Amroha District has a population of 1,840,221 and is the 258th most populous district of the country. About 53% of the population is male and 47% is female. Over the decade of 2001-2011, its population growth rate has been 22.66% and the population density of Rampur is 818 people per sq km. 16.31% of the population is under six years and the sex ratio is 910 females per 1000 males. The average literacy rate is 63.84% with male and female literacy rates at 74.54% and 52.10%.

About Amroha:
Hindi and Bhojpuri are the most commonly used languages here. Muslims have a 66% majority here. Agriculture is the primary economic activity here. National Highway NH-24 and NH-87 pass through the district.

About the Constituency:
One of the 80 Lok Sabha Constituencies of Uttar Pradesh, Amethi Parliamentary Constituency came into existence prior to the 1967 elections. The Amethi Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 37) has a total of 1,431,787 electorates out of which 679,304 are females and 752,483 are males according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports.

About Amethi:

It covers the entire district of Amethi, previously known as the Chatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar District, sprawls over an area of 3,070 sq km and has an elevation of 104 m. The district is divided into four tehsils and the city of Gauriganj is the center of administration. Amethi city lies at a distance of 40 km from Sultanpur. Hindi is the official language here while Awadhi is also widely spoken. Basic education facilities, including municipality schools and a handful of colleges are available here. The forest and its products play a very important role in the economic setup of the city. An extensive road network and railways connect it to several major areas of the country.

As per India census 2001, Amethi has a population of 12,808 with a 52% male majority and 48% of females. Muslims have a majority here. Amethi has a sex ratio of over 850 and a literacy rate of above 60%.

The Parliamentary Constituency of Allahabad is one of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state of Uttar Pradesh formed prior to the 1952 elections. According to Election Commission of India 2009 data the total electorates in the Allahabad Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 52) were 1,267,492 of which 572,169 are females and 695,323 are males.

According to the census data of 2011, Allahabad has a total population of 1,216,719 of which 53% are males and 47% are females, making it the seventh most populated city in the country. It has a sex ratio of 901 females per 1000 males. 13% of the population is below the age of six.
