About the Constituency:
One of the 80 constituencies of Uttar Pradesh, Shrawasti Lok Sabha Constituency was formed after the delimitation of 2008. The Shrawasti Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 58) consists of 1,405,884 number of electorates in totality, of these 773,243 are males and 632,641 are females as the Election commission of India 2009 data suggests.

About Shrawasti:

Shrawasti or Shrawasti District sprawls over an area of 1,859 sq km and is a part of the division of Devipatan. Bhinga is the headquarters of the district and it shares its borders with Nepal. It is 150 km away from Lucknow and comprises of two tehsils. The official language here is Hindi. The district is one of the 250 most backward districts of India and receives funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme. It has basic educational facilities.

Demographic Pattern:

According to the census data of 2011, the district has a population of 1,114,615 and is India's 414th most populous district. 53% of the population is male whereas 47% is female. From 2001-2011, its population growth rate was negative at -5.25% and it has a population density of 572 people per sq km. 18.59% of the population is below the age of six and the sex ratio is 881 females per 1000 males. Shrawasti District has an appalling literacy rate of just 46.74%, with male literacy rate at 57.16% and female literacy rate at just 34.78%.

About the Constituency:
The Parliamentary Constituency of Kaushambi is one of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies of Uttar Pradesh which was formed post the implementation of the 2008 delimitation of parliamentary constituencies. The total number of electorates in the Kaushambi Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 50) according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports are 1,391,312 of which 754,584 are males and 636,728 are females.

About Kausambhi:

The administrative headquarters of Kaushambi district is situated in the city of Manjhanpur. This district is located in the southern part of the state and is part of the Allahabad Division. It covers an area of 1,903.17 sq. km. Hindi is the official language of Kaushambi. Kaushambi has been declared one of India's 250 most backward districts in 2006, making it the one of the 34 districts of Uttar Pradesh receiving funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme. State Highways SH-94 and SH-95 pass through the district of Kaushambi and connect it to several major towns and cities.

According to the census data of 2011, Kaushambi district has a total population of 1,599,596 of which 52% are males and 48% are females. 17% of the population is below the age of six and it has a sex ratio of 908 females per 1000 males. Jhansi is one of the 80 parliamentary constituencies of the state of Uttar Pradesh comprising of 5 Vidhan Sabha segments two of which are reserved for the SC category. 1,562,082 is the total electorate count in the Jhansi Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 46). Out of these 835,184 number of electorates are males and the remaining 726,898 are belong to the female category as the Election commission of India 2009 reports suggest. It was formed in 1951 and in 2004 was recorded having a total number of 1,516,320 voters.

About Jhansi:

The Jhansi city is the headquarters of the Jhansi District bordered by the districts of Jalaun, Harimpur, Mahoba, Lalitpur and Tikamgarh. The city is under the Jhansi Division and lies at an elevation of 285 m. It is famous for being a center of Indian Independence. Several premier schools and colleges are located here including the infamous Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College. NH-12A, NH-25, NH-26, NH-75 and NH-76 pass through the area.

The district has a population of 2,000,755 and sprawls over an area of 5,024 sq km. Almost 52% of the population consists of males and the rest 48% comprises of females and about 14% constitutes of children below the age of six. The sex ratio here is 890 females for every 1000 males. The average literacy rate is 75.05%, male literacy rate is 85.38% and female literacy rate is 63.49%. There is a 91.5% Hindu majority while Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains also reside here.

About Fatehpur:
The city of Fatehpur is the headquarters of the Fatehpur district which sprawls over a total area of 4,152 sq km. The city of Fatehpur lies between Ganges and Yamuna rivers and has an average elevation of 110 m. It is 117 km away from Allahabad and 76 km from Kanpur. The city is situated on the National Highway NH-2 and is well connected to the nearby areas. Many schools and colleges are located here and the city is also famous for having many prominent Hindu temples.
