About the Constituency:

Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 48 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies of Maharashtra state in western India. This constituency came into existence in the year 2008 as a part of the implementation of the Presidential notification on delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted on July 12, 2002.

Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha constituency comprises of six Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments.  Shri Marotrao Sainuji Kowase is the current MP of Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha constituency. He is a member of Indian National Congress.

About Kishanganj:

Kishanganj parliamentary constituency is one of the 40 Lok Sabha seats which belong to the eastern Indian state of Bihar. The Kishanganj Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 10) has a total of 1,186,369 electorates out of which 561,940 are females and 624,429 are males according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports. 

Situated in the Kishanganj district which is part of the Purnia division in Bihar, this parliamentary constituency of Kishanganj is predominantly a Muslim dominated region.

About Kishanganj:

Situated in the Kishanganj district which is part of the Purnia division in Bihar, this parliamentary constituency of Kishanganj is predominantly a Muslim dominated region. With a total population of 16,90,948 people as per the 2011 Census of India, this district has the town of Kishanganj as its administrative headquarters. The town is also a municipality in the district. It is a relatively less populated district of Bihar.  

This district receives funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme, as it is one of the 250 economically backward districts of the country as recognized by the Government of India. Fed by the Kankai, Mahananda and Mechi rivers, this district is popular for being the only tea-producing district in the state of Bihar. 

This district is one of the most politically unstable and volatile regions, as its borders are extremely close to those of the neighbouring states of Bangladesh and Nepal simultaneously, thus witnessing a number of crimes and corruption in the state.

About the Constituency:

Jalgaon Parliamentary Constituency is one of the 48 constituencies of Maharashtra formed before the 1951 elections and has 11 Vidhan Sabha segments. 1,549,391 is the total electorate count in the Jalgaon Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 3). Out of these 804,782 number of electorates are males and the remaining 744,609 are belong to the female category as the Election commission of India 2009 reports suggest. The city of Jalgaon is the administrative headquarters of the Jalgaon District and lies in the Khandesh region. It is situated in the northern area of the Deccan Plateau near the famous caves of Ajanta at a height of over 200 metres and it covers an area of about 70 sq kms.

About Jalgaon:

The city of Jalgaon is the administrative headquarters of the Jalgaon District and lies in the Khandesh region. It is situated in the northern area of the Deccan Plateau near the famous caves of Ajanta at a height of over 200 metres and it covers an area of about 70 sq kms. 

As per 2011 census, the city has a population of over 4,60,000 of which about 13% is below the age of six. It has 52% male majority and the sex ratio here is 922 females for every 1,000 males. 67% of the population is Hindu and the rest is occupied by people of various religions like Islam, Buddhism, Christianity and Jains. The average literacy rate is 76% and some of the best colleges and schools of the state are located here. Jalgaon is home to the only Study and Research Centre dedicated solely to Mahatma Gandhi. The city is well known for its banana production, gold jewellery and textile industry. Drip irrigation is also prominent here and it is also an important producer of pulses. National Highway NH-6 connects Jalgaon to several major cities in the area.

The Purnia Parliamentary constituency, formerly known as Purnea, is one of the 40 Lok Sabha seats which belongs to the eastern Indian state of Bihar. The total number of electorates in the Purnia Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 12) according to Election Commission of India 2009 reports are 1,305,396 of which 688,182 are males and 617,214 are females.

About Purnia:

The Purnia district is part of the Purnia Division, and its administrative seat of power is the Purnia town. With a total population of 3,673,127 (2011 census), the Purnia district is spread over 3,229 sq km of area. Although many agricultural products are grown in this constituency, such as paddy, pulses, wheat, vegetables, watermelons, the district of Purnia remains one of the thirty-six districts of Bihar that have been identified as economically backward. 

Political Background:

Although the Purnia Lok Sabha constituency is currently held by the BJP, one of the most popular leaders in this district is Phani Gopal Sengupta of the Indian National Congress. Sengupta was elected MP from here for three consecutive general elections, from 1957 to 1967.

About the Constituency:

Bhubaneswar Parliamentary Constituency is one of the 21 constituencies of Lok Sabha in the state of Odisha. It was formed prior to the 1957 elections and comprises of seven segments of Vidhan Sabha. The Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 18) consists of 1,447,002 number of electorates in totality, of these 799,628 are males and 647,374 are females as the Election commission of India 2009 data suggests. 

About Bhubaneshwar:

The city of Bhubaneswar is the state capital and also the administrative centre of the district. Fondly known as the Temple City of India, it lies along the eastern coast of the country and has a total area of 135 sq km. The city is bordered by the rivers Daya and Kuakhai. 

It has a population of about 8,80,000 of which over 50% are males. It has a sex ratio of 882 females for every 1,000 males. It has a 90% Hindu majority. Oriya, English, Hindi and Bengali are widely spoken. It has an average literacy rate of over 85% and has over 300 colleges which offer higher education in various fields of arts, sciences, law, medical, engineering etc. It has developed in a major commercial centre of eastern India with industries of agriculture, forestry, mining, manufacturing, etc. Even the IT sector is very well developed here with companies like Infosys, Wipro, IBM and TCS. The National Highway NH-5 links it to nearby towns and cities.
