800 board appointees ready says Digvijaya Singh, Congress list of 800 board director member, Siddaramaiah, AICC general secretary, Digvijaya Singh
Congress has finalized a list of 800 directors and members to be appointed o various boards and corporations. After a meeting with chief minister Siddaramaiah, AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh who is also in charge of the party affairs in Karnataka, on Monday said he list will be made public in a day or two.
The Congress MLAs and hose who defeated in assembly elections were asked to recommend a panel of three names for the posts.
The government had already appointed chairpersons o 82 boards and corporations or 18 months and the soon-to be-appointed chiefs and deputy chiefs will have the rest of the tenure.
The AICC general secretary also discussed the names of aspirants lobbying for tickets in the legislative council as the Election Commission is expected to announce the poll schedule to fill up 25 vacant seats shortly. "We have discussed the names but will announce it only after the announcement of the poll schedule," Singh said.
BJP protest:
BJP workers will lay siege to Vidhana Soudha on Monday to protest against the "failures" of the Siddaramaiah government, like drought, farmer suicides, law and order, said state BJP chief Pralhad Joshi.
