5 Feb 2015: Delhi poll results not a referendum on Narendra Modi, it's the election for CM, not for PM: BJP

Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the Lok Sabha elections and the following assembly polls riding on the Narendra Modi wave, the party is treading a cautious path and not projecting him as the face of Delhi elections.
With some pre-poll surveys projecting that BJP might not win Delhi polls, party leaders are busy shielding the Prime Minister. "It is the election for the chief minister and not for the prime minister. Narendra Modi is not fighting assembly elections. It is a state election. It is the BJP versus the rest. That is all," senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu said.

Kiran Bedi's office vandalised, three BJP workers injured New Delhi, (IANS) A group of around 150 lawyers Monday vandalised the office of BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi in her Delhi assembly constituency of Krishna Nagar, in which three party workers were injured, police said.

31 Jan 2015, EC finds 5,000 liquor bottles in godown ahead of polls
Election Commission officials seized 5,964 bottles of illicit liquor from a godown allegedly owned by AAP's Uttam Nagar candidate Naresh Balyan last night. "A total of 5964 bottles (4473 litres) of Haryana-made liquor was seized from a godown by flying squad and police in a late night joint-operation," said a senior EC official.

Over 150 members of Aam Aadmi Party  joined BJP at a rally in Shakur Basti attended by Union Minister Smriti Irani over "resentment" against the local AAP candidate Satyendra Jain. The local joint-convener of AAP, Bhuwan Sharma led the breakaway group.

Later, addressing the rally, Irani wooed the middle class by pushing forth the issues of women security, corruption, education and development while urging voters to elect Kiran Bedi. The Election Commission on Thursday gave a clean chit to the BJP chief ministerial candidate, Kiran Bedi, in the matter of having two voter identity cards with separate addresses. The poll panel clarified that Bedi had applied for deletion of her Talkatora Lane address (voter ID number SJE0047969) in New Delhi. She now only holds voter identity card (number TZD1656909) having Uday Park residential address.

Delhi BJP's chief ministerial candidate and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi will sue AAP chief and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for defaming her in a picture used without her permission. The Aam Aadmi Party had put up combination pictures of Kejriwal and Bedi suggesting that Kejriwal was honest and Bedi an opportunist. The posters were pasted at the back of auto-rickshaws in poll-bound Delhi. She also served him a 24-hour deadline to withdraw the pictures.
