There is no dearth of pre-poll opinion surveys in Tamil Nadu this year. Results of two more surveys came out recently and both favourd the DMK over the ruling AIADMK.

Summary of all Opinion Polls for TamilNadu Assembly Elections 2016

According to a survey conducted by Goodwill Communications headed by Father Jegath Gasper, the DMK will sweep the May 16 election by winning 127-139 seats in the 234-member Assembly while the AIADMK will get between 81-90 seats. Others will get 14-17 seats.

The survey had a sample size of 12,000 voters and was conducted in four phases covering 10 months. The survey covered, besides Chennai, northern, southern, western, north-western Tamil Nadu, Central Kaveri Delta, Deep South and Far South Tamil Nadu. The survey said the vote-shares of both the AIADMK and DMK are likely to fall in this election. The shares of other parties, however, are predicted to increase from 15.3 per cent to 19 per cent.

 

Cauvery News pre-poll survey, too, backs DMK

Meanwhile, another survey conducted by Cauvery News predicted the DMK-led alliance to bag 37.9 per cent vote share against the AIADMK-led alliance's 32.9 per cent.
