An opinion poll initiative undertaken by Thanthi TV with Krish Infomedia with a sample population of 35,600 (around 150 people in each constituency) showed the AIADMK-led alliance leading in 22 seats in Tamil Nadu.

DMK, on the other hand, was predicted to win nine seats. In 19 constituencies, the two parties were locked in a close fight.

The survey began on April 15 when neither of the two parties had replaced their candidates announced originally. In North and South Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK and DMK are reportedly ahead in 13 constituencies each while the battle is close in another 14.
