BJP SAD Candidate List Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Elections 2016

Municipal elections are supposed to be held in Chandigarh on 18th December and the counting of votes would be done on 20th December. The Election Commissioner of Chandigarh Shri Rakesh Mehta announed the elections date.

Find BJP Candidate List for Chandigarh Municipal Corporation 2016 - 2017 for 26 seats,21 BJP candidates will contest, 4 SAD, 1 is undecided. Of 21 Candidates,  eight are new faces while five are those who have contested once but lost.

BJP Candidates List Ward Wise for Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Elections 2016

Ward 3 - Undecided, where Congress Chief Pardeep Chhabra is the sitting councillor

SAD Would Contest - ward numbers 5, 9, 10 and 15

Majority candidates from BJP Chief Sanjay Tandon’s camp.

1. Raj Bala Malik, - ward number 2 (Sectors 12,14,15 and Khuda Lahora).
2. Saurabh Joshi - ward 18 which comrpises sectors 27,28 and 30.
3. Mayor Arun Sood - ward 8
4. Davesh Moudgil - ward 22
5. Heera Negi- ward 13 (sectors 49,50 and 51).
6. Asha Jaiswal - ward 17 (Sectors 18,19 and 21).
7. Satish Kainth, - ward 11 (sectors 53,54,55, 56 and colony areas).

New Candidates are 

1. Mahesh Inder Sidhu from ward 1,
2. Sunita Dhawan who will contesting from ward 4,
3. Farmila from ward 6,
4. Kanwar Rana from ward 14,
5. Shakti Devshali from ward 20,
6. Gurpreet Singh Dhillon from ward 21,
7. Bharat Kumar from ward 23 and
8. Vinod Aggarwal from ward 26.

Old Candidates who had earlier been fielded are :-

1. Chandrwati Shukla would be contesting from ward 12,
2. Dhillon would be contesting from ward 25 ,
3. Rajesh Kalia from ward 7 ,
4. Raj Kishore from ward 19 and
5. Dubey has been fielded from ward 24.

Most of the candidates are lawyers by profession. The candidates will start filing nominations from Thursday.
The Congress is expected to announce its list on November 26 or 27. The candidates would now be fielded according to the BJP candidates.

About Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Elections 2016

1. Campaigning would be allowed till 5 PM on December 17.
2. There are 26 wards in Chandigarh in which the elections will be held. There are 5,07,190 voters in the city, out of whom 2,70,358 are male and 2,36,819 are female and 13 of them are third gender. There are about 460 polling booths.

3. All the 26 wards have been divided between seven returning officers before whom nominations will be submitted. The nominations will be filed between 11 am and 3 pm on all the working days.

4. A security of Rs 6,000 for each candidate will be deposited in cash with the returning officer at the time of filing nomination papers and Rs 3,000 in case of a Scheduled Caste candidate.

5. There will be three election observers and three election expenditure observers.

6. If a contesting candidate has to hold meetings, the party or the candidate will have to inform the local police authorities about the venue and time for any proposed meeting well in time. No mikes or speakers will be allowed after 10 pm. If a procession has to be taken out, the party or candidate will have to inform the police about it.
