Left-Congress alliance in West Bengal Elections 2016, hinted Left leaders, Sitaram Yechury ,Trinamool Congress , BJP, Left- Congress alliance, Trinamool Congress , Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Assembly Elections 2016
Left Front leaders hinted at a Left-Congress alliance in the assembly polls scheduled for next year, to give the ruling-Trinamool Congress a tough fight.
Leaders addressing a public meeting at Brigade Parade Grounds on Sunday, as a part of the CPM’s four-day Kolkata Plenum urged all non-BJP and non-TMC forces to unite with the Left Front, not directly naming the Congress.
“I am urging all forces to unite against the Trinamool Congress and BJP and give them a tough fight in the 2016 assembly polls.
People who did not make it to Brigade today and other rallies earlier, can stay away from the party, other like-minded people who wish to contribute to the party are welcome,” said CPIM state secretary, Suryakanta Mishra at the Brigade Parade Grounds.
A day-earlier, CPM general secretary, Sitaram Yechury did not rule out any understanding with the Congress to counter the Trinamool Congress. Yechury, too, expressed possibility for a similar alliance. “To save the face of democracy in Bengal we welcome all democratic, secular and Left forces to unite. All are welcome to join hands on this issue,” he said a day ago.
The Kolkata Plenum began on Sunday with the a public meeting at the Brigade Parade Grounds and will end on December 31.
