AITC, Trinamool ahead in Bengal civic polls,Bengal civic body polls, Trinamool Congress,Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation polls, bidhannagar municipal corporation election result, Asansol municipal corporation election result, Mahakuma Parishad polls, West Bengal Municipal Corporation Election,west Bengal civic polls counting,KOLKATA civic polls,west bengal Municipal Corporation Election result

The ruling Trinamool Congress is ahead in most of the wards of Asansol and Bidhannagar Municipal Corporations for which counting is being held today.

The Trinamool candidates were ahead of their rivals in Bidhannagar and Asansol Municipal Corporations in North 24 Parganas and Burdwan districts respectively.

 

The Trinamool also annihilated the opposition in the 16 wards of the erstwhile Bally municipality in Howrah district where election was necessitated after the civic body was amalgamated with the Howrah Municipal Corporation.

 

At Bidhannagar, in the north eastern fringes of Kolkata, Trinamool candidates were ahead in 33 of the 41 wards. The Communist Party of India-Marxist led Left Front led in four wards, and the Congress in two. An independent nominee led in one ward.

 

In Asansol, the Trinamool candidates have established leads in 65 wards, the Left was ahead in 16 and the Bharatiya Janata Party in five. The total number of wards is 106.

The Trinamool is ahead in 30 out of the 41 wards in Bidhannagar and 25 out of 106 wards of Asansol, West Bengal State Election Commission officials said.

Polling for the corporations was held on October 3 in 41 wards of Bidhannagar and 106 wards of Asansol.

Opposition parties had alleged large-scale violence and malpractices in the October elections in Bidhannagar and Asansol.

Repolling was held in nine booths of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation and in two booths of Asansol Municipal Corporation yesterday.
