Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad Voting Results Declared, Left,Siliguri Municipal Corporation,Trinamool Congress,Gram Pachayat Polls, Siliguri Municipal Corporation polls result 2015,west Bengal municipal corporation election result 2015,Kolkata municipal corporation election result 2015, Siliguri panchayats polls result, Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad result

After winning the Siliguri Municipal Corporation polls this year, Left has now bagged the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad. The Left managed to bag six of the total nine seats of the Parishad, while the remaining three seats were won by the ruling Trinamool Congress.

“We have proved our presence through our win in these elections. No matter how hard the ruling party tries, people will have their say. People are with us and we have got the mandate,” said Ashok Bhattacharya, mayor, Siliguri Municipal Corporation.

Of the total seats won by Left are Naxalbari-Maniram, Champasari-Patharghata, Matigara-Atharokhai, Kahribari-Buraganj, Binnabari-Raniganj Panishali, Hetmuri Singhijora-Ghoshpukur. Seats won by the Trinamool Congress were Bidhannagar I and II, Bagdogra, Gosaipur, Choterhat-Fashidowa-Jalash Nijamtara.

This apart, Left turned out to be victorious in the polls held to the Gram Panchayat and Panchayat Samity in Siliguri. Meanwhile, Congress could not make any major inroads in Siliguri.

Out of the total 4 seats of the Panchayat Samity, two seats were won by Left and two seats remained hung. Trinamool Congress could not make any inroads in the Panchayat Samity of Siliguri. However, speculations are on the rise that the ruling Trinamool Congress is likely to bargain with the hung seats.

On the other hand, in the polls held to the Gram Panchayat of Siliguri, Left won 10 seats of the total 22 seats. While Trinamool Congress won 4 seats, 8 seats remained hung. Elections to the Siliguri panchayats and Mahakuma Parishad, besides Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation, Asansol and Bally were held on October 3.
