ECI likely to release Assembly polls schedule in first week of March , Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam , Puducherry ,Assembly pollsdates,Upcoming Assembly election india schedule, Dr. Nazim Zaidi, Achal Kumar Joti , Om Prakash Rawat
Election Commission of India (ECI) is likely to release in the first week of March the schedule for conducting Assembly polls in five States including Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry are States where Assembly polls are to be held together during summer. Chief Election Commissioner Dr. Nazim Zaidi held consultations in this regard in New Delhi yesterday with the Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of the concerned States.

The meeting also discussed the arrangements to be made and about the security-related risks/aspects to be taken note of in each of the States where polls are to be held.
Besides the CEC, Chief Election Commissioners Achal Kumar Joti and Om Prakash Rawat and CEOs of five States including Tamil Nadu CEO Rajesh Lakhani took part in the meeting.
The meeting took note of the situation prevailing in these States and discussed at length as to how many phases of polling would be required for the States and about the number of central security personnel to be deployed for election duty. In all probability, of election schedule for five States may be out by the first week of March.
