Oath taking of new Panchayat heads begins from January 13, HP Panchayat Pradhans up-Pradhanselections, Oath ceremony Panchayat heads himachal Pradesh,HP,Himachal Pradesh, Virbhadra Singh
The newly elected panchayat Pradhans and up-Pradhans would be administered oath by chief minister Virbhadra Singh under a phased programme from January 13 onwards.
The Pradhans and Up-Pradhans of District Shimla, Sirmaur, Kinnaur, Solan and Kaza block of Lahaul and Spiti would be administered oath on January 13 at Shimla, representatives of Mandi, Kullu, Hamirpur and Bilaspur would take oath on January 15 at Mandi.
While oath ceremony for the Pradhans and Up- Pradhans of Kangra, Una and Chamba districts, except Pangi Sub Division would be held on January 17 at Kangra, an official spokesman here said.
He said that the Pradhans, who fail to take oath on the appointed dates, would be administered oath by the concerned Sub Divisional Officer in his office before January 23.
Oath to the members of Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads would be administered by the concerned authorities as provided under rules 85 and 86 of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Election) Rules, 1994 on such dates as were fixed by the said authorities, he added.
