Bharatiya Janata Party’s national president Amit Shah Saturday said that Goa election results will lay the foundation for victory of the party in 2019 parliamentary elections. He also said the party will win 27 seats in the upcoming Goa assembly elections.
Sounding the poll bugle for the upcoming elections at the booth-level workers convention organised at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium at Bambolim, Shah said that the year 2017 is an important year as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Gujarat and Goa are going to the polls.

He said, “The way the national executive committee’s meet in Goa had laid the foundation for the victory of 2014, similarly Goa’s results will lay the foundation for the victory of 2019 elections. Goa’s results will send a message to the people of the whole country.”
Stating that BJP has been re-elected in some states because the party believes in the politics of performance, Shah said, “In 2012, we won 21 seats, but every worker before leaving this convention should determine the target of 27 seats and a clear majority for the Bharatiya Janata Party (in the assembly elections).” Taking a dig at the Congress party, he said that whenever Congress party has ruled the state, they have provided a corrupt government to the people of Goa. “The BJP workers will have to go and inform the people of Goa that only under the leadership of our leaders, Goa can have a corruption-free government,” he added.
Suggesting to the independent MLAs to join a political party, Parsekar said, “In Goa, many independent MLAs have been elected, but in the history of Goa’s politics no independent MLA has ever been re-elected. Therefore, you need to join some or the other political party, but not BJP.” He further took a dig at the AAP stating that 22 MLAs have some or the other serious cases registered against them. “Someone is accused of rape, while another is accused of molestation and yet from another’s residence Rs 130 crore have been recovered,” he added.
