The survey, that is privately-funded, claims to be based on responses from 80,000 residents. It shows that despite being the ruling party, BJP is losing its sheen in Goa. The party will win just 11 out of 40 seats, as per the survey.

There is a huge anti-incumbency wave and it is going to throw up AAP as the next contender to the hot seat, says the survey.

AAP has made significant inroads in the Goan voter psyche, especially in South Goa where it will get 50 per cent of 20 seats and in North Goa it is expected to get four out of 20 seats, the MGP will capture six seats and Congress (I) seven seats, is the election forecast of the survey.

The survey posed several questions to respondents and one of them was on choice of chief ministerial candidate for Goa. Findings are pretty unusual and it shows that people want Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar as the chief minister again.

If Parrikar is not contesting Goa elections then people will settle for Sudin Dhavalikar, PWD Minister, followed by Digambar Kamat, Damodar Naik, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, Rajendra Arlekar, Vijai Sardesai and Elvis Gomes.

Respondents were given a choice of 10 chief ministerial candidates and the list included Pratap Singh Rane and his son Vishwajeet Rane also.

According to the survey, youth of Goa want a charismatic leader who can take the state to new heights of development. They do not want populist schemes but want jobs, start-up ecosystem and vocational training centers among other things.

The survey was conducted among 80,000 residents by Kautilya Teertha Data Analytics, a firm that has lately ventured into the field of market intelligence. It is the first survey of the firm, said Sankalp Chandelkar, founder.

He said the survey is not funded by any political party or individual. And more surveys are in the offing prior to the state assembly elections due in 2017. A pre-poll and exit poll survey is due, said Chandelkar.

The Kautilya Voter Intelligence Survey 02 Goa 2016 conducted by Kautilya Teertha Data Analytics, sent its teams to 40 constitutencies, 189 panchayats, 14 municipalities, 1640 polling stations and spoke to 80,000 respondents on what Young Goa wants. Young Goa seems to want AAP. Not the BJP. And definitely not the Congress.
