Nupur Sharma, the BJP candidate who will take on Kejriwal
The BJP has chosen Nupur Sharma to take on AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal from the prestigious New Delhi constituency in the February 7 Assembly elections.
The 30-year-old politician Nupur Sharma holds several key portfolios in the party.
- She is a member of the Executive Committee of Delhi BJP and also of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).
- She is her party's national media co-incharge too. Sharma was featured as one of the 10 Most Inspirational Women by the Hindustan Times in March, 2009.
Sharma is a London School of Economics graduate and was the former Delhi University Students Union president. She’s also an advocate by profession and additionally, holds a graduate degree from Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politician, Berlin. She was made the media co in-charge of Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the party in 2010.
When asked about her chances going up against Kejriwal, the youngster seemed confident and said that she had seven more years of political experience on Kejriwal, who launched AAP in 2012.
