BJP and Aam Aadmi Party two sides of same coin: Congress to Delhi voters

NEW DELHI: As it gears up for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Congress today attacked BJP and AAP, calling them 'two sides of the same coin' and cautioned voters against falling prey to their false promises.

"Both BJP and AAP are two sides of the same coin. They mislead people by making false promises. People should judge them on basis of what they have delivered and cast their vote wisely," Congress leader Haroon Yusuf said while addressing a gathering here on account of party's 130th Foundation Day celebrations.

Specifically targeting Aam Aadmi Party for its aggressive campaign to woo the voters, DPCC chief Arvinder Singh Lovely questioned the source of party's funding for the same.

"They are spending around Rs 300 crore on hoardings placed across Delhi and Rs 5 crore on radio advertisements. Where are they getting the funding from?," he alleged.

"Congress which was established decades back doesn't have this much money to spend on advertisements and hoardings. They are a barely two-year old party. Where are they getting this financial support from?," asked Lovely.

The DPCC President said, "They had formed a party saying they will be the common man's voice. They had resigned after 49 days of assuming power saying they wanted to bring Jan Lokpal Bill, then why none of their present hoardings have a mention of that bill?"

Yusuf also lashed out at AAP for cheating public's faith and cautioned people against believing their false promises.  "They cheated you once by painting a golden picture of future. They created a perspective that Congress was the source of corruption everywhere. What did they deliver to the people who gave them their precious mandate?," he said.

"AAP is claiming that they ensured cheaper electricity and free water in Delhi during their 49-day tenure. We have never come across a person in Delhi who has accessed those benefits," he added.
