Arvind Kejriwal said AAP won't support BJP, Prashant Bhushan misquoted.
New Delhi: As the question of who will form the government in Delhi is yet to be answered, Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party will not help the Bharatiya Janata Party in forming the government leading to the possibility of hung Assembly. His comments came hours after a party member Prashant Bhushan was quoted as saying that AAP can provide issue based support to the BJP.
"There is no question of supporting BJP. What Prashant said on Monday was his personal opinion and he has been misquoted," Kejriwal said.
Prashant Bhushan, too, clarified that there is no question of the AAP seeking or providing support to BJP.
The AAP political affairs committee that met to discuss options has also said that it does not endorse any proposal to give issue-based support to the BJP.
This even as the BJP has now said that it is committed to bringing in the Jan Lokpal Bill, an issue that has featured high on the AAP's agenda. "We are dedicated to making Delhi rid of corruption, it's not because Prashant Bhushan or anyone else says so. If we can make the country rid of polio, surely we can make Delhi rid of corruption." BJP CM candidate Harsh Vardhan said.
