Officials get suspended a day before local bodies elections in UP
LUCKNOW: An ADM rank officer was suspended while a DSP and a tehsilar were transferred by the state election commission on charges of misconduct and deleriction of duty on Friday, a day before first phase of local bodies elections.
Accordnig to joint commissioner, JP Singh, additional district magistrate (rvenue) SP Patel, posted in Rampur was suspended after he left the district without informing the commission. Singh said that Patel could not be contacted on phone as well.
Likewise, DSP Karnailganj in district Gonda, OP Pandey, was transferred after the commission received complaints of misconduct against him. He was releived of his duty immediately.
Similarly, Shivsagar Dubey, tehsildar of Ghorwal in district Sonebhadra was also transferred to Chandauli after commission received complaints of misconduct against him.
Meanwhile, the state election commission assessed the situation in different districts through video conferencing. Singh said that reports on security arrangements, power supply and sealing of the borders were taken from returning officers across the state.
