Telangana Urban Local Body Elections 2017
Elections to the six seats in Telangana Legislative Council from local bodies' constituency in four districts has begun today.
Telangana State Election Commission has issued the schedule for conducting elections for vacancies in Panchayat Raj bodies and urban local bodies across the State.

The elections in urban local bodies will be held on July 14 and results will be announced following counting on July 17.
In a release, TSEC secretary M Ashok Kumar said that the elections will be held for four MPTCs of Mandal Praja Parishads, 16 sarpanches, and 133 ward members along with the 19th ward of Narsampeta Nagar Panchayat in Warangal (Urban) district and also elections to Pahadishareef gram panchayat of Saroornagar mandal in Rangareddy district.
The model code of conduct will be in force in the respective local body limits and will remain in force till the election results are declared.
As per the schedule announced for rural local bodies, the last date for submission of nominations is July 4 and nominations will be scrutinised on July 5.
The last date for withdrawl of candidature is July 8 and election will be held on July 13. The votes will be counted on the same day, followed by declaration of results.
Similarly, the nominations for elections in urban local bodies can be filed till July 3 and candidature can be withdrawn on or before July 5. The elections in urban local bodies will be held on July 14 and results will be announced following counting on July 17.
