Samajwadi Party spreads its wings to Madhya Pradesh.

Samajwadi Party

LUCKNOW: Spreading its ambit the Samajwadi Party has decided to contest assembly elections in neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh where it hopes to win at least 15 seats.

The Samajwadi Party has also decided to contest at least 190 of 230 seats on its own. It will also support candidates fielded by the like-minded and secular parties, party sources said. Final decision regarding this will be taken by party's national president Mulayam Singh Yadav.

In 2003 assembly elections, SP had won 9 seats but in the 2008 polls it failed to open its account. The party is eyeing on those Bundelkhand seats that share border with Uttar Pradesh.

The social and economical conditions of the people of those parts are like those living in Uttar Pradesh. These people are well versed with the performance of Akhilesh Yadav government. They know how SP government in UP has fared.

UP chief minister and party's state president Akhilesh Yadav will address a series of rallies in Chambal region. The party had brought leaders from MP unit to limelight so as to infuse confidence among the party workers.
