Kolkata, Mar 30 (PTI) Stating that their major objective was to ensure progress in every sphere of government activity so that West Bengal regains its stature and pride, the state Pradesh Congress Committee today released its manifesto for the elections to the state Assembly.
The 13-page manifesto, released by state Congress president Adhir Chowdhury this evening, stated that the partys resolution was to oust the ruling Trinamool Congress government.
Highlights of the Election Manifesto
Alleging that TMC in the state and the BJP government at the Centre "have reached an understanding to help and support each other", the Congress manifesto promised "speedy investigation into Saradha and other chit fund scams" besides, investigations into the TET recruitment scam of 2011.
"Our main emphasis is on industry, health and restoration of law and order in the state. Unless and until the law and order is restored, there cannot be any development in West Bengal," Chowdhury said."West Bengal has no atmosphere for education. We are eager to establish that atmosphere in the state," he said.
Asked how the party would run the show if they win the elections, Chowdhury said "We have entered into an alliance and if there are any differences, we will discuss and solve it... (in) the manner it was done during the UPA-I, we will try to do it that way."
