Facing criticism over complacency that lead to debacles in Delhi and Bihar, the BJP has already braced itself for a clash with Trinamool Congress (TMC), claimed party functionaries.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going in with all guns blazing as it prepares to face the tough West Bengal assembly elections likely to be held in April this year. Facing criticism over complacency that lead to debacles in Delhi and Bihar, the party has already braced itself for a clash with Trinamool Congress (TMC), claimed party functionaries.

"The BJP has for the first time, in West Bengal elections, shown such a dogged attitude to contest. Preparations on ground, which used to be completed only a few days before the elections, have already been completed with almost four months to spare," said BJP West Bengal unit secretary Ritesh Tiwari.

We have deputed a purnakalik (wholetimer) of the party as incharge in all districts and also in assembly segments to take care of booth-level preparations. This shows how seriously we are taking the West Bengal polls," Tiwari added.

"We are ready to take on Mamata Banerjee and the opportunistic alliance struck between the Congress and the Left. The alliance shows the desperation of these parties. They are arch-enemies in Kerela and here they have joined hands. These elections will be a direct contest between the BJP and TMC," Tiwari added.
