Kolkata Civic poll Survey Result: Trinamool set to sweep Kolkata civic polls, says ABP Ananda & Nielsen survey
Kolkata, April 14: The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) is likely to win the upcoming civic polls in Kolkata while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which produced a significant performance in West Bengal in Lok Sabha election last year, is unlikely to carry on with the momentum, said a pre-poll survey conducted by ABP Ananda and AC Nielsen.
The Left, which has seen a steady erosion in the state in the recent times, is expected to regain some ground at the expense of the BJP, according to the survey.
The survey was carried out in 72 wards featuring over 13,000 people between March 26 and April 5. According to the survey, the BJP could see over 11% loss in its vote-share of 23.6 per cent that it had received in Kolkata during the Lok Sabha election.
The saffron party could win six wards in the April 18 polls. The TMC on the other hand, is likely to capture 103 wards while the Left could win 31 seats (they won 32 wards in the last civic polls).

BJP - won (6 wards)
TMC- Won (103)
Left front - won (31)
If they can grab 30 per cent vote-share this time around, it will be a major turnaround by them, particularly after the steady decline they had seen, facilitating the rise of the BJP. The Congress may win 4 wards with 9% vote-share.
