Karnataka Zila Panchayat/Parishad/Taluka Elections Live Voting has started (Poll timings : From 7.00 AM to 5.00 PM)

35 per cent voting was reported till 1 pm
15.8 per cent turnout in first 2 hrs.
The districts that are going to polls in the second phase are: Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Udupi, Bidar, Ballari, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, and Vijayapura.
- Polling will be held for 155 TP seats, 41 ZP seats
- Voting will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday
- There are 1,562 polling stations
- 176 candidates are in the fray
- There are 12,68,254 eligible voters

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal seems to have become the go-to man for senior leaders from other political parties. A day after BJP MP Shatrugan Sinha called on him, reportedly to "discuss Delhi," former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda of JD(S) has reached out to Kejriwal.
04 Aug: Bengaluru civic polls to be held on August 22:
"Elections for 198 wards of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will be conducted on August 22 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; re-poll, if any, on August 24; and counting of votes on August 25," Election Commissioner P.N. Srinivasachary told reporters here.
The model code of conduct came into force till the completion of the poll process on August 26.

11-July-15: Bye Elections to five GP seats on August 2
SEC will holding byelections to five gram panchayat seats in Udupi district on August 2. The notification for elections will be issued on July 15. The last date for filing nomination papers is July 22. The scrutiny will take place on July 23. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is July 25. The counting of votes will take place on August 5, the release added.
Byelections will be held to:-
Kukkehalli-1 seat in Kukkehalli Gram Panchayat
Nadsalu-3 seat in Padubidri Gram Panchayat
Koteshwar-9 seat in Koteshwar Gram Panchayat

The Congress government in Karnataka today said it would lodge a complaint with the state Election Commission against the central government for allegedly publishing advertisements in newspapers in violation of poll code of conduct for the two-phase Gram Panchayat elections beginning tomorrow.
"We are lodging a complaint against the Narendra Modi government at the Centre for violating poll code of conduct by publishing government ads in newspaper," Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya said here.

Over one lakh women candidates will try their luck in the Gram Panchayat (GP) elections in the statetobe held in two phases on May 29 and June 2. There are 6,073 GPs in the state, but the elections will be held in 5,835 GPs for 94,348 seats. The elections to the remaining 238 GPs have been put off for different reasons like court cases, non-completion of term and upgradation of a few GPs into urban local bodies (ULBs).
