Ex-Gujarat CM Keshubhai to float new political party, Gujarat Assembly Election News 2012, Keshubhai Patel news update 2012

AHMEDABAD -- Gujarat BJP dissident leader Keshubhai Patel is all set to float a new political party and will announce its name next week.

The Mahagujarat Janata Party (MJP) formed by BJP rebels, which has been spreaheading the anti-Narendra Modi campaign with the support of Patel will merge with the new outfit which is likely to be named Nationalist Janata Party.

Patel, who has twice been chief minister, and the MJP chief and former home minister Gordhan Zadafia have been holding conventions throughout the state exposing alleged misdeeds of the Modi regime.

Political stalwarts who have decided to join Patel's party include former chief minister Suresh Mehta, former federal minister and MP Kashiram Rana, ex-legislator K D Jeswani, former minister Nalin Bhatt, all BJP rebels who have been sidelined by Modi.

Zadafia told that the new party would offer a third political alternative to the people in the state dominated by the BJP and the Congress, adding thatMJP's existing infrastructure and network would make it easier for Keshubhai to organise and mobilise his supporters who include leaders not only from the BJP but also from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other Hindu organisations.

For the last few months, 84-year-old Patel has been spewing venom on Modi who replaced him in 2001, and calling him names branding him liar, braggart, demon, etc.

Zadaphia owes his political career to Keshubhai. When he was appointed a minister for the first time in the Modi government, he refused to accept it. It was only on Keshubhai's advice that he agreed. Both belong to the same community and complement each other
