UK General Elections 2015: Labour and Conservatives neck and neck in opinion polls

Labour and the Conservatives are neck and neck in the latest election opinion polls. Both parties are on 35 per cent, according to the most recent surveys.

The latest of ComRes's frequent telephone polls for the Daily Mail, which ramp up a weekly timetable for the election campaign, has topline figures of the Tories on 35 per cent and Labour on 35 per cent.

UKIP's share is 10 per cent, while the Greens have seven per cent. Meanwhile the daily YouGov poll for the Sun has very similar figures of Conservatives 35 per cent, Labour 35 per cent, LDEM 8 per cent, UKIP 12 per cent, and the Greens on six per cent.

Prime Minister David Cameron said yesterday he would not serve a third term as Prime Minister if re-elected in May's general election.

The leader of the Conservative party has said he would remain as PM for a "full term" - until 2020 - but wasn't considering staying on any longer than that. Labour has said Mr Cameron is being "arrogant" in taking voters for granted.
