Allahabad University Students’ Union election to be held on Oct 14
The Allahabad University Students’ Union elections will take place on October 14, the university authorities said on Tuesday.
- Polling will take place from 8 am to 2 pm followed by counting of votes from 5 pm onwards.
- According to the schedule, nomination papers will be sold from 10 am to 2 pm on October 4 and 5 and filing of papers will take place from 9 am to 2 pm on October 6.
- Nomination papers will be uploaded on the university’s official website after 5 pm the same day.
- The detailed schedule for the AUSU polls was announced by returning officer Prof RK Singh.

- The returning officer said the election would be held strictly as per the Lyngdoh Commission’s recommendations. He said anyone found violating the code of conduct would face strict action, including cancellation of candidature. Prof Singh said if any anomaly surfaced even after the declaration of results, action would be initiated even against the candidate concerned.
- Prof Singh appealed to the students to strictly adhere to the norms for students’ union polls and remove all posters, banners, and hoardings within and outside the university campus.
