General Singh supports Anna's anti-corruption movement
LUCKNOW: Citing corruption as the biggest problem of the country, former army chiefgeneral VK Singh has said that there is nothing wrong in the movement against corruption launched by social activist Anna Hazare and Yoga guru Baba Ramdev.
According to reports General Singh, while talking to reporters at Vrindavan in Mathura, said that he thought that the government should find out the way to tackle corruption which hit the common man the most. The general, who is known for fighting against corruption in the armed forces, however, said that he had no plans to join politics. The General had come to Vrindavan on Sunday to offer prayer at the Banke Bihari Temple. Later, he was felicitated by a local institution.
He also said that it would not be in the interest of the security of the country to talk about 'army issues' in public. He said that army should be kept out of politics. He said that army was the most dependable and reliable agency in the country and could deliver in most adverse circumstances. He also refused to comment on his age controversy which was a hot topic of discussion in media for the past few months before his retirement.
