CHENNAI:DMK has the edge over AIADMK in vote share in the May 16 assembly poll in Tamil Nadu , according to the results of an opinion poll conducted by research organization People's Studies.

The opinion poll was conducted in 177 assembly constituencies (in 39 parliamentary constituencies) after speaking to 8,064 voters from April 24 to May 10. The results of the poll were released on Friday by S Rajanayagam, director of People's Studies and Visual Communication professor at Loyola College.

The poll predicts a vote share of 42.7% for DMK, 36.6% for AIADMK, 7.9% for DMDK-PWF alliance and 3% for PMK.
For the post of chief minister, 41.1% chose DMK chief M Karunanidhi, 31.7% chose AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa, 10.1% chose DMDK chief Vijayakanth and 6% chose PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss.
