Why Amit Shah is the frontrunner for BJP President post

amit shah

New Delhi: Name of Amit Shah, close aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is emerging as front runner for the position of next Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) president. The aforementioned speculations are rifer after Rahstriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ; the ideological parent of the saffron party cleared the name of Shah, as per sources inside the party.

3 reasons why Amit Shah may be appointed next BJP President

1. Upcoming Assembly elections

According to some sections of media, Modi has prepared a strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand. Eyeing them, party is planning to transfer the chief’s responsibility inside the approaching three months, shifting over from sitting President Rajnath Singh. It’s also being said that Assembly elections may be called up earlier in states such as Delhi and Bihar. In such a scenario, master strategy maker Amit Shah may be handed over the responsibility at the earliest.Additionally, after the election of Rajnath Singh as the Home Minister, the chair of power at the helm of the BJP lies vacant.
2. Stupendous performance in UP during Lok Sabha polls

Amit Shah has emerged the ultimate choice after he delivered a stupendous performance in Uttar Pradesh in the just concluded Lok Sabha polls. BJP won 73 out of 80 seats in the state, an increase of 63 seats.  His work during the elections has only seen him rise to power. Modi’s UP campaign solely rode on Shah’s capability to maintain the ‘Modi wave’ across various towns and villages in the state.
3. Support inside party

Earlier, J.P.Nadda was considered as a frontrunner. But considering the fact Shah enjoys wide level of support among party cadre, his name easily dominates others.
