In his letter, Anna Hazare has promised to end his fast if the Parliament passed a resolution on three issues highlighted by him that would help lessen the sufferrings of the common man against corruption.
The three issues are appointment of Lokayuktas in state, preparation of citizens' charter by each government department and inclusion of lower bureaucracy under the ambit of Lokpal.
Anna Hazare hoped that no political representative would have problem supporting the three issues as it concerned the common man.
However, he made it clear that his agitation against corruption will continue till all the demands of the Jan Lok Pal Bill were met.
Thanking the Prime Minister and the Parliament for their praise of the Jan Lokpal movement on Thursday, Anna Hazare said like the government he was also working to end corruption.

Disregarding doctor's advice to be put on Intravenous (IV) drip, fasting Anna Hazare on Tuesday refused to take any medicine and warned government against trying to forcibly evict him from the protest site of Ramlila Maidan. Hazare, who appeared before thousands of his supporters late tonight, said the team of doctors headed by Naresh Trehan had said in the afternoon that he had some problems in his kidney and that he should take some medicine. "I have decided not to take any medicine. I would ask Dr Trehan and others not to mistake me in this regard. He also warned the government against trying to remove him forcibly from the protest site. "If someone from government comes here to evict me forcibly you people should go and block the gate. But you should be peaceful," the frail-looking Hazare told the cheering crowd. "I have given my heart and I am ready to give my life also," he said. Hazare has lost 5.6 kg since he began his fast on August 16, his close associate Manish Sisodia told reporters here in the morning. Traces of ketone were also found in his blood. In the evening, he had said Hazare's health is fine and there was no need to worry. Earlier, doctors had advised Hazare not to venture into the sun as it could have a negative impact on his health. |

NEW DELHI: With Prime Minister Manmohan Singh maintaining that the government is open to dialogue, Anna Hazare on Monday suggested that he should send his representatives for discussion on the Jan Lokpal Bill. Kiran Bedi, one of the leading members of Team Anna, quoted Hazare as saying, "Let the government come forward to discuss the Jan Lokpal bill. Let the PM send his representatives." She also ruled out that any negotiations were on between the two groups. "(Talk of) any negotiations are rumours," Bedi tweeted. The suggestion came within hours of the Prime Minister saying that the government is open to a "reasoned debate" on the Lokpal Bill and that the Parliamentary panel examining it can propose changes. "We are open to a reasoned debate on all these issues," Singh said at the golden jubilee function of the Indian Institute of Management in Kolkata. As Hazare's fast demanding a strong Lokpal entered the seventh day, his close associates expressed concern over his deteriorating health. His team asserted that they have no intention to topple the government but defended the Gandhian's remarks that it should go if the bill is not passed by August 30. |
