BHOPAL: Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabhaand senior BJP leader, Sushma Swaraj, called upon the people to vote fearlessly to defeat the Congress government in the 2014 general election. Stating that the election will be fought on courage Swaraj invoked Mahabharat to put the Congress-BJP electoral battle in context.

Addressing the BJP's 'Karyakarta Mahakumbh' here, she said "this is Mahabharat of Kaliyug and it is different of Mahabharat of Dwapar Yug, have to ensure that each discontented voter goes to the poll booth," she said. She lauded MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for good governance and having taken the state on the path of progress.

Taking a bow before the workers, she said it was the BJP workers who ensured the party win in elections and hoped that they would do their best to make the party victorious in MP and general election.

BJP will form next govt, says Jaitley: Senior leader and leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley was confident that the BJP will form the next government under Narendra Modi's leadership at the Centre after the 2014 polls. He said that there was no doubt that Shivraj Singh Chouhan would be elected for the third term in the assembly elections in MP.

Jaitley, who was among the architects who planned to defeat Digvijay Singh government from MP 2003, lambasted the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre stating that it has become synonymous with corruption.

Cong has no one to match Modi, says Naidu: Addressing the workers former BJP presidentVenkaiah Naidu said that the Congress was hesitant in naming a leader as its prime ministerial candidate as they do not have a single leader who can match BJP's Modi.

Naidu also pointed out how Madhya Pradesh was reeling under poverty when the Congress was in power, and lauded present Chouhan for his efforts in getting MP out of the BIMARU tag. Urging the audience to vote for the BJP, Naidu said that an honest comparison of work with the Congress, would surely make people vote for his party.

"We have seen what the Congress has done with our country. ...If you do a comparison between the work of the Congress and that of the BJP, you will yourself support us and we will help you," he said.

India will emerge as a superpower under Modi, says Uma: Former MP chief minister as BJP leader Uma Bharati addressing the party workers said that

under Narendra Modi India will become a true superpower.

"Let my elder brother Shivrajji (Shivraj Singh Chouhan) get a bigger mandate than in 2003 also," she added.

Bharati also took a jibe at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi considered by many to be the face of his party in 2014. "Rahul went to the houses of poor, but that is not development," she said.

In a bid to clear misgivings about relations between party patriarch LK Advani and its prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, Bharati said, "Narendra Bhai once told me that Advani is such a leader that one starts to like him more and more as one gets closer to him."

The worker mahakumbh was being organized by BJP to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, a founding member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the forerunner of the BJP.
